HP's IPaq 514 Voice Messenger
HP IPAQ 514 HP has come out with its first smartphone, the IPaq 514 Voice Messenger. It will let you send voice messages as attachment with the text message. The iPaq 514 runs on Windows 6 and comes with Wi-Fi and 3G. It only has a numeric keypad (no Qwerty keyboard) as voice attachment system is to cover this short coming.
IPaq 514 is aimed at enterprise users and include new security features that can lock down or wiped if lost or stolen. Also it has the option of remote application installation and diagnostics.
The iPaq 514 Voice Messenger will be launched in June 2007.

Palm Treo 755p
palm treo 755p Palm Treo 755p is the latest Palm OS Treo, available through Sprint in the U.S. The CDMA Treo 755p is the first Treo device to offer a series of software features, plus the built-in antenna design brought by Palm with Palm Treo 750.

The smartphone comes with 128MB memory being 60MB available for the user and support for Mini-SD memory cards up to 4GB. Part of the multimedia functionality is the 1.3-megapixel digital camera and video recorder, and application to organize and share photos. Treo 755p has DataViz Documents To Go Version 8.0 software , which offers support for native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as full PDF support.

One new feature to the Treo 755p is the integration of Google Maps service for mobile. With Google Maps built-in, Treo 755p users can get directions, perform local searches, and view moveable/scalable maps, satellite imagery, and traffic updates while on the go.

Treo 755p features and benefits include the ability to watch mobile video directly on the Treo 755p with Sprint TV, which has more than 50 channels of live and on-demand content.The Treo 755p is available starting mid-May 2007, in two colours, midnight blue and burgundy and runs on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, based on the CDMA EVDO standard for fast 3G networks.

Sony Ericson P1 Smartphone
sony ericson p1 Sony Ericsson has announced the 5th generation P-series smartphone which is based on Symbian v9.1 having UIQ 3.0 interface.

The handset includes a 3.2 megapixel camera with business card scanner and a 2.6 inch touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels. One basic feature of P1 handset is the dual function keyboard, which include full alphanumeric QWERTY keyboard combined with one hand phone usability.

The Sony Ericsson P1 comes with Opera Web Browser pre-installed, and serves as a multimedia companion including a music and video player and built-in FM radio. Users can expand its memory from the 160MB standard with Memory Stick Micro cards and device comes with a 512MB Memory Stick Micro out of the box.
Sony Ericson P1 measures 106x55x17 mm and weighs only 124 grams. The battery can deliver up to ten hours talk time on GSM networks and over three hours on UMTS networks.

FIC Neo1973 Smartphone
fic neo 1973 Open-Source Neo1973 from FIC is a fully programmable phone with 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen. You can write your own applications for this smartphone or download available apps from the internet.

This quad-band GSM/GPRS phone uses open-source OpenMoKo Linux operating system. It also has Bluetooth 2.0 and USB. It also has built-in GPS system. All these features can be used by developlers to create all kind of applications for this smartphone, so that this phone does what you want it to do rather than what the phone provider wants it to do. Costs around US$350 and service is provided by AT&T or T-Mobile. Should be available by end of 2007.

Moto Q is being offered by Telus Mobility in Canada.

After looking at Moto Q, the difference between PDA and smartphone is lost on me!


Samsung SGH-T719

Samsung T719 is the first flip phone (clampshell formfactor) which has RIM BlackBerry connect e-mail support and works on GSM/EDGE network. It has hybrid QWERTY keyboard that is licensed from Research In Motion (BlackBerry maker). T719 has color internal display and greyscale external display. Also has 1.3-megapixel camera with video recording and playback capabilities. Other features include speakerphone, speaker-independent voice control, digital media player, wirleless Web browser, voice recognition and basic PIM applications.

In US, T-Mobile is expected to launch the Samsung t719 smartphone in Late summer.


RIM BlackBerry 8700g
The RIM BlackBerry 8700g offers T-Mobile customers a robust, user-friendly messaging device and mobile phone with excellent performance.

The RIM BlackBerry 8700g offers easy email setup and adds support for popular instant-messaging clients. The quad-band 8700g also comes with an Intel processor, EDGE speeds, Bluetooth 2.0, a speakerphone, and a full QWERTY keyboard.


Cingular 8125
The Cingular 8125 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Windows Mobile 5, and four forms of wireless (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, EDGE, and infrared). The quad-band world phone also offers a speakerphone and extralong talk-time battery life.


T-Mobile MDA
The new T-Mobile MDA is a messaging powerhouse, with a full QWERTY keyboard that slides away plus GSM, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.3-megapixel camera, a Mini SD expansion slot, Windows Mobile 5 and the extra speed you need to take advantage of the T-Mobile Total Internet network

Wide (640x320-pixel) screen with pen input, Up to 90 MB internal memory, 128 MB MMC card, Handwriting recognition, HTML browser supports Flash 6, 1.23 Megapixel carmera (1280 x 960) , Music player with stereo audio, Bluetooth, Audio and video playback and streaming FM/Visual Radio. Currently this toy is only available in Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific, Americas will have to wait.
